Do You Need Invitations to Your Event?

If you're hosting an event, party or reception, how do you know if you really need Long Island invitations? First, look at the size of the event. If it's a very small gathering and you can easily speak to each person individually and invite them, you may not even need formal invitations. A good example of this might be a bachelor or bachelorette party where word of mouth is all that's really needed.
Larger events where it's going to be difficult to reach each person and speak with them individually are prime candidates for Long Island invitations. If you think you might not be able to catch someone whether on the phone or in person to talk to them, you don't want to risk them not feeling invited. Leaving messages on voice mail or answering machines might seem like a good idea, but often if you don't speak to the person in real-time, the message will get lost or forgotten. You don't want to risk a person being left out because their voice mail deleted your message, or someone else in the family listened to it and didn't write it down or relay it.
Weddings are a good example of an event where you need Long Island invitations. Some people on a budget put an ad in the paper that announces all friends and family are welcome to come to the wedding and/or the reception.
Bear in mind that many people, especially older people, don't feel comfortable going to an event with an open invitation like that. Long Island invitations sent through the mail or even hand-delivered are necessary for them to feel welcome. So instead of risking that many people won't come because they're not sure they're invited or they feel it's a breach of etiquette, choose Long Island invitations that you can send to your guest list.
